A day in the life.
We wanted to take a few minutes and catch everyone up with what we're doing in the "off season" plus what we're looking forward to this wedding season.
The off season sounds nice and relaxing and though I've definitely had a few off days, an entire season? Not so much.
Firstly, engagement season has been incredible for us. Starting in November we have met so many incredible couples that we are honored to celebrate their wedding day with. Our 2016 season is wrapping up to be a full one and we only have select dates available. (Even 2017 we're booking fast, two inquires for the same Fall 2017 date? Crazy.)
Second, I haven't even had a chance to post yet, but we've been a part of some beautiful styled shoots. Even today, we've been at The Lodge at Raven Creek showing off their new venue along with all our vendor skills. (Tune to Instagram to see some sneak peeks!) Not to mention all the exciting shoots we have planned before wedding season really begins.
We've also taken this time to reconnect and network with a lot of different vendors. As many of you know I'm a part of The Rising Tide Society, a network of entrepreneurs that always encourage and uplift each other in #communityovercompetition. From that I've connected with more vendors to be able to recommend to our couples. We've also have visited many new venues in the area. Out of that networking, Renee from Forget Me Not and I have begun doing consultations for these venues that are trying to find their place in NEPA. Currently we're working on a huge Bridal Open House for Whitewoods, a new enchanting destination venue in Wapollopen, PA. We're also working with The Lodge at Raven Creek to show off their beautiful bed and breakfast, as they begin their first wedding season this year.
In the midst of meetings with vendors and our new couples, plus planning styled shoots to stay on trend and show our creativity, Evan and I moved close to where I grew up (in middle of nowhere, PA). This doesn't really change anything for our couples as we rarely charge for travel. It just means a lot more driving time for us as we meet with Monzie's Floral in Tunkhannock, have our monthly Rising Tide meetings in Clarks Summit, #shoplocal in Scranton and visit Renee in Berwick. So bear with us if we miss your call, or don't answer your text/e-mails as quick as I used to. (Believe it or not, I'm getting way better at not texting and driving due to winter weather conditions.)
What's ahead? Well we are currently seeking 6-8 Interns for our wedding season that currently stretches from May until October (minus a few off season weddings). This is going to be an incredible experience for our Interns, as well as a great help to me. For more info, e-mail me!
Also as mentioned we have very limited dates left for prime 2016 wedding season. If you are looking for day of coordination, now is the time to send us an e-mail and see if your date is available! Did you recently get engaged?! Don't wait to contact us for your full, partial or day of coordination services --even if you're not getting married till 2017.
I'm so excited for the year ahead and am so looking forward to working with our incredible couples to create their beautiful day. As always, thanks for your support in spreading the word about Patchwork Planning and for reading our weekly #weddingwednesday blogs!
Take care,
