Pregancy, Wedding Season, Vacation and a sick Bulldog.

You might be wondering what the title of this blog is all about. It's the answer to, "Where have I been? Why have there not been any blogs, little social media interaction, and all around social-ness?"

So what are we really up to?

I announced on our social media sites one month ago now, sent a little email to all our 2016 couples, but forgot about our little blog! It's very official, Evan and I are expecting a little one in January. Yes, we're finding out what the gender will be (in just a few weeks!). I'm feeling good for the most part, but still have a few days of migraines, and general sluggishness each week. (Hopefully that answers all your pregnancy questions for me.)

June was a bit of a struggle, but each wedding was absolutely beautiful and I was so grateful to be a part of five weddings. July we only had one gorgeous wedding up at Fox Hill Farms, which gave me some time to recoup, adjust and get ready for the rest of the season.

"So if I don't answer your email within five minutes, it could very well be because I have no cell service for half the day as I'm at a venue in the middle of no where."

Even now, with many "day of coordination" weddings coming up in August (a big big wedding this weekend!), September and October, our schedule has filled up with venue walk-throughs, timeline meetings, and more. So if I don't answer your email within five minutes, it could very well be because I have no cell service for half the day as I'm at a venue in the middle of no where.

Also speaking to our slow responses, I am no longer just "taking phone calls." Because I love to be organized, and with so many bookings already for 2017 and new inquiries coming in, I am no longer going to answer your phone call while I'm in line at Target. It must be scheduled. I must be able to have a pen and paper ready for notes (or even better, sitting in front of my desktop.) This is for your benefit, even though you might think I need to answer at your beck and call. This doesn't mean you're any less important, it doesn't mean I'm not working on your wedding details. It means this is my job, I am extremely busy, and I will assure you that everything will get done in a timely manner.

Lastly, as a small tidbit, our rescued English Bulldog has been decreasing in health. She is seven years old and unfortunately they have many health problems that even the best dog mom can't heal (although I'm pretty sure I've cried enough, and prayed enough that she is doing a little bit better!) With additional vet appointments, and bed ridden days, my schedule has changed and can change with each day. I'm pretty sure Stacy is preparing us for Baby Mock, I just wish she felt 100% and would live forever.

So there. What I've been up to. I almost forgot to mention how incredible my interns have been doing. Samantha is so spot on with catering details, Caroline has a great eye for decor details, and Vanessa is a natural. We got to celebrate a light wedding month with a spa day at my house for all of PWP's interns and assistants. It was such a great time, and I'm so thankful for each one of them.

As always, thanks for reading. If I miss a week here or there in blogging, you don't see me posting everyday on Instagram, or if I avoid your phone call until it's scheduled, give me some grace. Growing a human is a pretty big deal, and as much as I love Patchwork Planning, I love my husband, our baby, and our bulldog much more than my business.
