Monochromatic Winter Shoot

Just how every wedding is unique, so is every styled shoot! “What is a styled shoot?” you may ask- a styled wedding photo shoot is a staged wedding, design, or event for vendors to showcase their talents, and more importantly, provide future couples with some incredible inspiration! A lot of couples don’t realize how creative wedding vendors can get, but we can do a lot outside of the typical Pinterest wedding. There were so many talented wedding pros involved in this shoot, and all of them were able to see the vision and run with it! A shoot can be a lot like a wedding with all the little details involved: colors, design, napkins, textures, guest experience, unique invitations, delicious sweets, and wanting to be unique.

When a couple asks for vendor recommendations, I don’t take that lightly. Just like with every shoot, and wedding, we find a dream team of vendors who’s style reflects the shoot to a T. With this adorable little chapel at The Lodge at Raven Creek, I knew the inside would have a lot of natural light and I knew the photographer who kills every time. It was fun to watch Seneca behind the scenes making the models feel comfortable and relaxed. She’s also detail orientated and gets all the little details photographed (brides take note! Get a photographer who is experienced and gets the details when you’re trying to remember where you packed your shoes ;)

Julie, owner of Chippy White Table, was such a huge part of this shoot! If you know Julie, you know how spirited and passionate she is when it comes to wedding and designing. She immediately felt this “boho, scandanavian, monochromatic” shoot and ran with it. She hunted down the glasses from her mom (S/O to Boss Mother Stella), she dug around to find the perfect silverware, and threw this tablecloth on the table just so that it made everything come together.

I really wanted these little clay pots for some added texture, and found them on etsy! I love the rugged edge, the unglazed matte look, and the cream colors it added. I just really love textures guys.

I KNOW you’re wondering about this whimsical dried floral installment. I’m pretty sure I sent a picture to Monica from Monzie’s and said “you know like tall, dry, cute” and she made THIS. Another reason to trust your vendors-they know even when you don’t.

The photo below is the sweetheart table that Chippy White Table dreamed up. Notice how the ceremony backdrop arbor was re purposed for the sweetheart table! A good way to save $$ and keep showing off the floral installments.

Another fun little tidbit- I love ribbon cascading down from a bridal bouquet. And what a meaningful way to customize said ribbon, by adding the lyrics to your first dance? Santina is another pro I can go to and say “hey I’m kind of thinking this would be pretty” and she runs with it. She did all the invitation suites, calligraphy, and styled them so beautifully on the day of the shoot!

“I am yours, Now and always, Wouldn’t dream to be anything more, You take my breath away every night, Still can’t believe it when you say your mine and I am yours, I am yours, I am yours”

Another thing I’m seeing couples leaning towards is meaningful guest experiences, and ways to give back. More and more couples don’t want to waste a lot of greens, or have too much waste in general. So back to the shoot- these vases are from a women empowerment group in Uganda called Tribe & Glory. They help women entrepreneurs by giving them access to debt free capital through short term employment, and business training. These women then go out and start their own businesses to provide for their family and rise above the poverty cycle. Their whole model just amazes me. They have beautiful cocktail tumblers and jewelry as well from local ankole cattle horns like the vase pictured below at www.tribeandglory.com

Our beautiful models also happen to own The Wandering Brew-an adorable remodeled horse trailer bar that’s great for weddings and events. They were just married in August, and still have that cute love glow!

Thanks for following along! Keep scrolling for more pics from the shoot, and the full list of vendors.
