Caroline Got Engaged! Part 1 - Guest Blog
Today we have Caroline on the blog talking about her new engagement!
I love that I have the opportunity to work with Candice this summer and learn more about the wedding planning process. It’s amazing that I happen to be engaged at the same time. Justin did a great job at surprising me. I had no idea it was coming and now I get to be engaged as I learn about all the details of a wedding from Candice.
After being a bridesmaid and maid of honor three times in the last two years I’ve already learned that every situation is different and the possibilities are endless. All you need is a little imagination and the tools to accomplish it. I’m excited to start sharing about my journey towards marrying my best friend but before I dive into my own planning process I’ll give you a little story on how I met Justin.
It was gym class about ten years ago. I was a petite eighth grader and I had my eyes on a handsome senior. He was sweet and we became best friends instantly. I was the first one he’d pick for his team despite how horrible I was at the game and free gym meant we could spend the class walking around the track and talking. His last day of school came suddenly and I was sad that I’d never see him again. It was the last period of the day and I looked to the hallway waiting for his daily passing by. Just like every day, he passed my class and smiled. I said to a friend that I’d miss him and by the time he walked back down the hallway she had given him a piece of paper with my number on it. We talked for hours at a time through the summer but fell apart when school started. Just like that, it was all over. Until…
Two years later we were both sophomores (high school and college). He reached out to me and we picked up where we left off. We talked about anything and everything but where life had us made a relationship the wrong timing. We parted ways again and over the next few years we chat occasionally. I traveled outof the country a few times and supported my endeavors. The second time I stayed in China we reconnected more seriously and when I came home we finally started dating. Timing is key in our story. The roads we were both on finally met in the middle and we are ready to merge and walk the same road from now on. I’m so excited to finally be with my best friend and spend the rest of my life with him.
Stay tuned for next week for her proposal story!
Thanks,
Candice Mock
